The Babylock Jazz 2 is an inexpensive, easy-to-use sewing and quilting machine. It’s great for beginners as well as experts.

You are provided with 12 inches of throat space, which makes stitching convenient and allows you to take on big projects. Plus, there is an LED light over it, which creates a well-lit environment.

It allows you to work on thick fabrics as well. And the free arm lets you sew difficult-to-reach areas of your fabrics, and it operates at 1,000 stitches per minute. However, it does have manual thread tension, and it is a bit noisy. Overall though, the Baby Lock Jazz is a fantastic and affordable sewing and quilting machine. Baby Lock Jazz 2 in-depth Review

The Babylock 2 sewing and quilting machine is perfect for those looking for a cost-effective sewing and quilting solution. Affordable sewing machines with large throat space can be tough to find, but this one definitely fits the bill. The Baby lock Jazz features a 12″ throat you can use for quilting, giving you a better work flow and a more enjoyable sewing experience.

Holding the fabric down in a position while adjusting it can be a pain when you have to do it manually. You won’t have to do anything with this machine though; it has a needle up/down button, so you can put the needle in the down position automatically.

This way, the needle holds the fabric while you adjust it for appliques, curves, or corners. This is also helpful when you are doing free-motion sewing. As a result, you can finish your projects faster and with less hassle.

Ever tried to go for reverse stitching to get a stronger stitch and lost your focus? Well, you won’t have to take your eyes off your fabric as the company has designed a large reverse lever, allowing you to easily put the machine in reverse.

If you have ever manually threaded a needle, you know how much of a pain it is. Thankfully, you don’t have to do much these days. Machines like the Babylock Jazz 2 have built-in needle threaders that do the job without virtually any input from your side.

So, there won’t be any frustration or near-misses. Just a few simple steps and you are ready to sew.

Moreover, it’s so convenient when you don’t have to do work to access and replace the bobbin. In the Babylock Jazz 2, the top-loading bobbin is easy to replace, allowing you to focus on what matters.

Plus, it’s always visible, so you always know when you are running out of thread.

What’s more, you can easily wind the bobbin thanks to the bobbin winder seat that holds the thread in place. It is automatically stopped when the bobbin is full.

You won’t have to take your hands off the fabric to start or stop the stitching either. The hands-free presser foot allows you to have control of your fabric all the time. You can use your knee to control it.

Babylock Jazz 2 is also a great tool to hone your creativity. The machine offers 28 built-in stitches and a one-step buttonhole. So, you can create a lot of designs quickly.

Plus, the speed of the machine is impressive. It runs at a maximum of 1000 stitches per minute, allowing you to finish your work faster.

Another thing that adds to the ease of use is the 6 LED lights over your working space, and, you can easily stitch difficult to reach areas of clothing courtesy of the free arm.

The machine is suitable for multiple layers of fabrics and can also handle thick clothes easily. Though what people often love most about the Baby Lock Jazz 2 is its price point, which puts premium features in the realm of small budgets.

While we would’ve loved the addition of automatic thread tension, you have to cut something to make a machine at this price point. It could also be a tad quieter, but overall, the features it comes with are more than enough to make it worth the purchase price.

Conclusion

The Babylock Jazz 2 comes with all the bells and whistles that you would need for effective sewing and quilting. And all the features come at an impressively low price point.

It’s easy to use, works on thick fabrics, offers an LED-lit large work area and has a free arm for sewing difficult-to-reach areas of fabrics.

However, it’s a little heavy. And it doesn’t have an automatic thread tension feature and is a bit noisy as well.

Overall, you won’t regret buying it if you are fine with a little noise and manual thread tension.
